Module Overview
Module 1 teaches core Python for engineering work, with worked examples that rotate
across the six engineering fields this course serves - Civil, Mechanical, Electrical,
Computer, Chemical, and Industrial. Every code example is tagged with its discipline,
e.g. # [Electrical], so you always have a familiar entry point and pick up a little
cross-field literacy along the way.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Write basic Python scripts to automate engineering calculations
- Work confidently with numbers, text, lists, and dictionaries
- Read and write CSV and Excel files programmatically
- Explain why Python has become the lingua franca of engineering data work
